In and around Lexington, Kentucky
by Derek Wakeham
These are a few of the images taken during our third visit to Lexington (April - May 2008). My wife and I have a pen friend in the city whom we met in 1989 on a cruise up the Norwegian coastline, and we have kept in touch since then.
Lexington (pop. 230,000) is rightly called the "horse capital of the world". It is surrounded by approximately 110 horse farms, and thoroughbreds can sell for up to
$2 million.'
